Where can we help you?
Frequently asked questions
Rent Yako is Kenya's digital property-management platform. We help landlords list units, collect rent, track maintenance requests, and communicate with tenants—all from one intuitive dashboard.
Click Sign Up, enter your name, email, and phone number, then verify via the code we send to your phone. You'll be up and running in under 2 minutes!
Once logged in, go to My Properties → Add New, fill in the details (photos, description, rent amount), and hit Publish. Your listing goes live instantly.
Tenants can pay via Lipa na M-Pesa, bank transfer (NCBA API), or credit/debit card. All payments flow directly into your linked account, with automated receipts emailed to both you and your tenant.
We charge a flat 2% transaction fee on rent collected through our platform. No setup fees, hidden charges, or monthly subscriptions.
Tenants submit maintenance requests in-app. You get notified immediately, can assign to a vendor, and track status updates in real time.
Use our built-in chat to send announcements, reminders, or one-on-one messages. SMS/email fallbacks ensure critical alerts are delivered.
We use TLS 1.2+ encryption, daily backups, and role-based access controls. Your tenant and payment data are never shared with third parties.
